# Details

**The fine detail of your photo, in Open Negative Initiative.** Sharpening, colour noise and texture, judged in the loupe at the head of the tab, on your scan's full-resolution pixels.

## Sharpening

**Sharpens edges without adding colour fringing.** It rests on, at 1.00×; a double click on Amount switches it off. On a contact sheet it is off and greyed, its values kept.

### The app's own note on Sharpening

> Sharpens edges without adding color fringing.

### Sharpening

Sharpens edges on the brightness alone, so no colour fringing. Amount says how strongly, Radius at what size in your file's full-resolution pixels, and Halo limit how far an edge may go past its neighbours.

- It rests on, at 1.00×. A double click on Amount returns 0.00× and switches it off; the block's reset turns it on again.
- Radius sits at 2.1 px in the middle of its track, so the small radii get half of it.
- Judge it in the loupe at the head of the Details tab, which shows your photo at full resolution.
- On a contact sheet it is off and greyed, its values kept for when a photo takes them.

- **Amount**: 0.00× to 3.00×, at rest 1.00×
- **Radius**: 0.7 px to 8.0 px, at rest 2.1 px
- **Halo limit**: 0% to 100%, at rest 50%

- **Travels**: Copy Settings and Paste Settings carry it with the whole Color and Details tabs, and PASTE TO ROLL lays it on every photo of the roll; a preset carries it when its "Sharpening" box is ticked.

## Chroma Denoise

**Smooths colour noise from the scan, after the inversion, without touching the film grain.** It rests on, at 20% and 4.0 px; hidden in B&W, off and greyed on a contact sheet.

### The app's own note on Chroma Denoise

> Smooths color noise from the scan without touching the film grain.

### Chroma Denoise

Smooths the colour noise of your scan without touching the film grain. It runs after the inversion and acts on the colour alone.

- It rests on; Amount or Radius at 0 switches it off, and a double click returns the rest.
- Judge the dose in the loupe at the head of the Details tab.
- Hidden in B&W; off and greyed on a contact sheet.

- **Amount**: 0% to 100%, at rest 20%
- **Radius**: 0.0 px to 6.0 px, at rest 4.0 px

- **Travels**: Copy Settings and Paste Settings carry it with the whole Color and Details tabs, and PASTE TO ROLL lays it on every photo of the roll; a preset carries it when its "Chroma Denoise" box is ticked.

## Texture

**Contrast at the scale of hair and fabric.** The track is asymmetric: more room to add than to take away.

### The app's own note on Texture

> Contrast at the scale of hair and fabric — leaves grain and overall tone alone.

### Texture

Contrast at the scale of hair and fabric, on the brightness of your photo, leaving grain and overall tone alone. The track gives more room to add than to take away.

- **Texture**: -1.00× to +2.00×, at rest +0.00×

- **Travels**: Copy Settings and Paste Settings carry it with the whole Color and Details tabs, and PASTE TO ROLL lays it on every photo of the roll; a preset carries it when its "Texture" box is ticked.
